About Breed
Welsh Corgi is a very friendly and intelligent dog. Related to Sheepdogs. Country of origin is Great Britain. The two Welsh Corgi varieties Cardigan and Pembroke have similar origins. However, some writers believe that their history differs. The Cardigan is thought to have been introduced in Wales by Celts, then crossed with Nordic breeds and British sheepdogs. The Pembroke, on the other hand, is said to have been introduced by Flemish weavers during the Middle Ages and be related to some Nordic breeds. The two varieties were crossed in the 19th century, making them more similar in appearance. Since 1934, each variety has its own standard.
